Christian Formation Ministry
Maxine Williamson (Chairperson)
The Christian Formation Ministry (CFM) seeks to fulfill our mission through the various activities and programs which are produced by this Ministry. The organizations which fall under the Christian Formation Ministry include Prayer Band, Usher Board, Anglican Church Women (ACW), Chapters/Sub-committees and Renewal Programs (Alpha, Discovery and Cursillo etc.)
Our Mission is to provide opportunities for parishioners and the various organizations to develop and sustain their growth in Christ.
Our objectives are:
(i) To sensitize members of the Parish to the importance of their spiritual journey;
(ii) To provide opportunities for members of the Parish to get a greater appreciation for the worship experience;
(iii) To assist in providing opportunities for spiritual development;
(iv) To foster the spiritual direction of the various groups and organizations .
Over the life of this ministry we have made many notable achievements not limited to the organization of the following:
-Outdoor Mass on Archdeacon William Thompson Park
-Pre-dedication Mission Services
-Singles Conference
-Women’s Conference
-Hope Conference which sought to bring hope and encouragement to persons who may have been affected by the economic downturn. The two day sessions provided practical displays to enable participants to make a fresh start.
-Quiet Time/Lenten Reflections
-Back in Da Day Reminiscing (where we came together in dramatic form to relive memories of life in yesteryear)
-Retreats (including in 2011 a very successful “Retreat for Ministry Leaders”)
In 2010 we organized the first (now annual) Prayer Breakfast, which showcases God’s miraculous works in the lives of members of our Parish
In 2011 we hosted the highly successful Talent Show billed “St. Agnes Gat Talent” in which members of the parish displayed their God-given gifts through various performances.
The Discovery Program is gaining new heights in our parish as, in addition to the three day Weekend experience, we also seek to bring practical expression to this renewal program by reaching out and engaging in ministry to others. In 2011 we also made our first Discovery Mission to Rock Sound Eleuthera where the team travelled to organize a Discovery experience for the parishioners. Other similar Mission Discoveries are planned for other Islands.
