Fr. Mervyn Johnson is now the Priest-in-Charge of the parish Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Stapledon Gardens, New Providence. We congratulate him and assure him of our prayers and support.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMME: Parents and guardians interested in having their children participate in the programme are asked to complete the application form and return to Dr. Celestine Williams or the parish office. Classes are held Mondays through Thursdays from 4:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
ACW News: St. George’s ACW will be celebrating their 46th anniversary service today at 6:00 p.m.
Holy Cross ACW will celebrate their anniversary with a service on Thursday, 11th march at 7:00 p.m.
The ACW of St. Mary the Virgin will celebrate their anniversary on Thursday, 11th march, at 7:00 p.m.
There will be a Lenten High Tea and Fashion Show o Sunday, 21st March, 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., at Mandeville (residence of Dr. Perry & Mrs. Carmen Gomez). Tickets are priced at $20 and may be purchased from any ACW executive member.
LECTURE SERIES: On Spirituality and Worship continues on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. until 10th March. Sessions will be conducted by Archbishop Gomez.
VESTRY MEETING: Will be held on Thursday, 11th March, at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the administrative building. All vestry members are requested to attend.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY: Upcoming Sunday School activities:
- Saturday, 13th March: Circle Time, church of the Epiphany, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (children 12 years and under).
- Sunday, 14th March: Mothering Sunday Service, Christ Church Cathedral following march which leaves the Eastern Parade at 2:00 p.m.
YOUTH NEWS: Basketball practice will be held every Saturday at 9:30 a.m. on the Southern Recreation Grounds leading up to the basketball tournament slated for the month of April.
All youth organizations and the “youth at heart” are invited and encouraged to participate in the Mothering Sunday march and church service on Sunday, 14th March. Bus transportation will be available from St. Agnes Parish to the Eastern Parade, departing at 1:25 p.m. Remember to wear red tops and khaki / tan / beige bottoms.
ACM NEWS: The annual Diocesan ACM Conference will be held in North Andros from Wednesday, 17th March through Sunday, 21st March under the theme: “Anointed and Commissioned to Serve”.
USHER BOARD: Will meet on Thursday, 18th March, at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall.
WEST CENTRAL ARCHDEACONRY: Will hold its Lenten Mission on Sunday, 21st March and Monday, 22nd March, at St. Barnabas and Holy Spirit Parishes.
LENT: Be mindful of the additional services during lent: Stations of the Cross at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and 7:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Please remember to take your Lenten sacrificial envelopes. We have pledged to give $10 per week or a one-time gift of $75 for the Lenten discipline.
Please take a copy of the Lenten Devotional booklet provided to assist each of us in this Lenten pilgrimage.
The Lenten walkathon will be held on Saturday, 27th March, beginning from the Church to Goodman’s Bay. Sponsor sheets are now available at the parish office.
ST. AGNES MUSIC MINISTRY: Presents an “Evening of Hymns and Readings” on Palm Sunday, 28th March, at 6:30 p.m. Please support.
FISH FRY: Will be held on Good Friday, 2nd April, 12:00 noon – 6:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Church parking lot (between Lewis and Cameron Streets). Tickets priced at $10 are available for sale at the parish office.
PASTORAL CARE & COUNSELLING MINISTRY: Will hold a meeting on Tuesday, 9th March, at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall. All interested members are requested to be present.
The Annual Recognition Service is held on Low Sunday for parishioners who attain the age of seventy (70) years by Low Sunday of the current year. The Recognition service this year will be held on Sunday, 11th April, at which time all registered parishioners with birthdays between 10th April, 1939 and 11th April 1940, will be honoured.
