LENT II
ON YOUR MARK!
We have now completed all the processes to provide leadership in the parish family of St. Agnes. We congratulate those who have been elected and appointed; and we look forward to their involvement and contribution to the growth and celebration of achievement as we move towards the goals we set.
One of the important things that all who have come to the fore must be cognizant of is the need to cooperate and understand the need to share in the vision of the family. There ought not to be any personal agendas and efforts to distort the vision of the family.
Too often, precious time is wasted by focusing on non-essentials and not on the fact that the "Master" will return.
This year must be an eventful, progressive, and cooperative year for this great historic family. In order to realize such, we all must be careful not to be distracted by "naysayers", but venture together with God in the depth of life and cause more wonderful things to happen through service.
Normally, finger pointers attempt to divert attention to themselves; at the same time, "naysayers" must know that "if Christ is in the vessel, we will smile in the storm."
This year 2010 challenges the Church to make its ministries relevant and responsible!
There is a need to welcome additional "field workers", some senior members and others intergenerational. No one should be discouraged from involvement or leadership, where possible.
Those who have served the Parish well over the years must be prepared to allow others to work along with them or have them succeed them! There is no franchise form of ministry in the Body; "every man in his own order!"
Together, much can be accomplished for God through the family. Let us renew ourselves during this solemn time and cause wonderful things to happen to the Glory of God.
May this Lenten time be a period of renewal and fortification so that the good things continue to happen and cause growth.
Let us encourage each other, especially new membership! Such will strengthen our efforts, enrich our fellowship, and cause everyone to feel that they are in the right place.
Continue to have a good Lent...
